The Last Season of 2012

Why should winter be dry and morose, when it can bring revival and light-heartedness?

I am an introvert. I do not talk to people I have not met formally. I have trouble making small talk. Winter changed that.

No other season is as overwhelming as Winter, yet the 2012 year-ending months seemed easier than the rest for me.

This season filled with food, holidays, and communion allowed me to open up to new friendships. I started to truly connect with more of my church family.

Ending my year with hope for whatever the future may bring, Winter marked more new beginnings in my life.

Ready or not, 2013 is here and I cannot wait for this journey to unfold.

That’s the end! 🙂

Now one-quarter of the way through 2013, I feel great! 2013 is filled with new faces, many surprises, and new journeys beyond my understanding. I am excited to be a part of a few teams so tight-knit and fun. There is still a lot of year left to enjoy, so I am doing my best to live it one day at a time. It’s hard not to look too far into the future and wish to be there instead of here, but I am living in the moment! I’m truly loving the journey that will get me to where I’ll be in five or ten years. You know what they say about destinations and journeys….

Do you?

Just kidding.

We have had a great year seeing the seed we planted grow immensely. This wonderful church home has been evolving and moving forward. We have lived and learned, we have given and taken, we have sacrificed and been rewarded. It’s never about the reward or the compensation, but we know that we have an almighty Father who loves us enough to let us know that what we are doing is good. “That’s all I have to say about that.” SB

Bringing my thoughts into this blog has been very challenging for me, as my mind tends to float all around the place. It has pushed me to explore new topics and follow different people with ideas very different from my own. One of my fellow small-group-ers said, “Psh, go outside my box? I don’t even own a box anymore!” That’s how I feel at and with my church, I have “outgrown” the box that I had. It’s fantastic.

Try something new this week! Happy blogging!
